]]>Mon, 09 Jan 2012 14:32:32 -0500http://www.tanktheory.com/blog/tank-theory-vs-attack-of-the-show/Captain Super TT stencil prints!http://www.tanktheory.com/blog/captain-super-tt-stencil-prints/The stencil print version of Captain Super TT is now available in the shop! They are being offered for $100 each. Creating this edition of 15 unique stenciled prints was an extremely labor intensive process but at the same time was really really fun.  Four separate stencils were cut by hand, one for each layer. We bounced between spraying the yellow, red and blue layers first, creating variations in color, hand splatters and color fades.  The black layer was sprayed last, sometimes again with color fades and splatters. The last move was numbering, signing and embellishing each of the 15 with silver paint marker.


We thought it would be nice to post some photos of the stencil making process and some behind the scenes of these prints being created.

The first order of business?  Create a living, breathing Skull Block icon for ourselves in real space!



]]>Wed, 21 Dec 2011 16:35:48 -0500http://www.tanktheory.com/blog/tank-theory-office/Wilderness Line!http://www.tanktheory.com/blog/wilderness-line/Welcome to the new online face of Tank Theory!  We have redesigned and streamlined our website to reflect a new era in graphic tees.  We stripped down the number of pages on the site, eliminated all the image pop ups, increased the image sizes across the board and generally simplified the site as our own aesthetic has become a bit more simplified. You might also notice a couple big changes to our new site. We have done away with the Tshirt of the Month club, an idea we pioneered from the beginning but from which we could never quite keep up with or update frequently enough. Considering the idea has since spread and some of our predecessors have done it better than we ever have, we decided to scrap it. Also absent is the Artist Society section.  Not that we have done away with working with some of the most talented artists out there today. We certainly are going to continue in that tradition. To simplify though, we've consolidated the Artist Society tees into the basic, all encompassing, Tshirts section.

In conjunction with our new website launch, we are dropping our new line, Wilderness.  This is our first line in over 2 years that Zach has art directed since rejoining Tank Theory as creative head. We are really excited with the theme and direction of the new line. We hope you enjoy the new tees as much as we do!
