We are happy to announce our next 3D Topo print, this one of Mt. Bachelor, Oregon. Rising to a height of 9,068 feet, Mt. Bachelor is a dormant volcano at the southeast end of the Three Sisters in central Oregon.
We have taken this new print a step further and added an additional layer of printed acrylic to the equation. Based on USGS data, we re-drew the topographic features of Mt. Bachelor in 2 layers. The topmost printed layer has the peak of Mt. Bachelor and the lower layer has the base. Overall, the Mt. Bachelor 3D topo print has 5 levels; a digitally produced background print of radiating grey values, a half inch black spacer, a floating screen printed lower topo map of Mt. Bachelor in cyan blue color, another half inch black spacer, then a final piece of screen printed acrylic in sea foam green of the topographic peak of the mountain. The layers of art all line up when viewing it head on to create a 3D effect and there are interesting shifts in the overlapping art as you walk around it at various angles.
The print is contained within a classic wooden shadow box frame in black. The final outside dimensions of the framed print is 8x8 inches and 2 inches deep. Comes with backing material and hanging hardware. No assembly required and ready to hang. Proudly printed and handmade in Portland, Oregon.
Here are some photos of the process coming together..
